Collaborative for Transformative Public Health
We are a multi-racial team of public health scholars and activists. Collectively, this leadership team has worked with public health institutions, universities, and grassroots organizations to embed anti-racism within their practice as well as played a key role in being thought leaders on issues of health justice, anti-racist public health research, teaching, and institutional transformation.
The Collaborative for Transformative Public Health is led by Dr. Melissa Creary, Dr. Paul Fleming, Dr. Whitney Peoples, and Lindsey Thatcher.

what we do
Anti-racist transformation of how public health institutions promote health
Anti-racist transformation of how we do public health research
Anti-racist transformation of how we train public health students and professionals

our vision
In future generations, the field of public health and its partners will be empowered with the creativity, tools, and relationships to co-create a world where racial health inequities no longer dominate population health and all people have the opportunity to thrive.
Our long-term vision requires that we must act now, in this generation, to integrate anti-racist principles and other anti-oppression strategies and practices throughout the field of public health.

our mission
It is our mission to play a role as a think tank fomenting and studying ideas for transformation,
a convener building community and power for transformation,
a megaphone amplifying evidence and success stories,
and an advocate strategically engaging decision-makers,
in order to help advance a health equity movement and better enable public health institutions to adopt equity-focused and anti-racist policies and practices.

about us
